Guidelines for the Scientific Abstract

Editorial and drafting standards for ONTA 2026

1. Structure and Length

  • Length: Between 200 and 300 words (maximum ~300].
  • Single paragraph: The abstract is not divided into sections. All in one block.
  • Structural content: Must include problem, objective, methodology, results, and conclusion.

2. Scientific Drafting

  • Style: Formal, objective language in third person.
  • Tenses: Past for methodology/results, present for conclusions.
  • Precision: Mention exact method, data type, and main quantitative finding.

3. Technical Restrictions

  • NO citations, references, tables or figures allowed.
  • NO equations or footnotes accepted.
  • Avoid abbreviations not previously defined.

4. Rigor Requirements

  • Keywords: 3 to 5 terms from scientific thesauri.
  • Coherence: It must allow understanding why and for what the research was conducted.

Important Note: The abstract must be self-contained. Avoid subjective phrases or personal opinions.

Technical specifications for presentations at ONTA 2026

Important Note: The abstract must also be part of your presentation. Go to abstract guidelines

Oral Presentation

  • Duration: 10 min presentation + 5 min questions.
  • Format: PowerPoint (.ppt/.pptx] or PDF.
  • Equipment: Laptop and projector provided.
  • Limit: Maximum 12–15 slides recommended.
Content: Introduction, Objectives, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions.

Poster Presentation

  • Dimensions: 90 cm (width] × 120 cm (height].
  • Orientation: Vertical.
  • Font - Titles: Minimum 36 pt.
  • Font - Text: Minimum 24 pt.
Minimum: Title, Authors, Introduction, Materials, Objectives, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, and Acknowledgments.

General Recommendations

  • Arrive 15 min before your session.
  • Test and deliver files before starting.
  • Carry backup on USB flash drive.
  • Strictly adhere to time limits.
  • Use clear, high-quality graphics.
